The Division is responsible for many co-curricular learning opportunities, programs, services, and activities designed to support students and help them thrive.</p> <p>The Student Affairs Division focuses on supporting students' interpersonal, physical, and emotional well-being to promote academic success, as well as success beyond the classroom. Services are provided through a variety of collaborative interdisciplinary departments, programs and initiatives. These include Counseling services, Health services, Wellness Education, Residence Life, Student Accessibility services, Student Rights and Responsibilities, Veteran's Affairs, and Student Activities and Leadership Development, as well as the university's Recreation Center and Student Center.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>The Dean of Student Affairs is a leadership position that reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs. The successful incumbent will work directly with students, as well as faculty and staff to address student needs, supervise assigned staff, provide presentations to groups across campus, and engage in strategic planning activities. In addition, the Dean of Student Affairs will oversee and manage the assessment of programs for the Division of Student Affairs and collaborate with Student Affairs leaders in the design, implementation and reporting of assessment activities. The incumbent will conduct research on students to support continuous improvement of services and programs; generate progress reports for target audiences, including electronic formats; analyze data and makes recommendations and facilitate the presentation of data to division and university constituencies.</p> <p>Applicant Evaluative Criteria</p> <p>Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>All applicants must possess an earned Master's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Student Personnel Services, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field.</p> <p>Experience and Training:</p> <ul> <li>Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in student personnel administration in higher education </li><li>Demonstrated record of accomplishment as a student advocate/champion of student development </li><li>The ability to function as a team member in a fluid environment and the ability to develop productive working relationships and build consensus around new initiatives </li><li>The ability to think, act, and lead strategically with advanced skills in prioritizing, organizing, and delegating complex tasks. </li><li>Comprehension of student services processes and of process improvement possibilities. </li><li>Demonstrated history of working effectively with diverse populations, knowledge of a wide range of diversity programs and practices, and </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Ideal Candidate</p> <p>Preference will be given to applicants with the following:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced Degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) </li><li>Experience providing performance-based supervision to staff and/or faculty </li><li>Experience completing needs assessments, analyzing data, and implementing program initiatives based on this data </li><li>Experience providing presentations </li><li>Experience interfacing with students, faculty, and staff to identify and implement strategies designed to support students and address their needs </li><li>Experience with strategic planning initiatives </li></ul> <p>To Apply</p> <p>To begin the application process, select the "Apply" button and electronically submit the following documents by June 23, 2025 .</p> <ul> <li>Letter of interest addressing the qualifications for this position. </li><li>Current Résumé </li><li>Names of three current professional references with title, email addresses and telephone numbers. </li></ul> <p>Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
