<p>Job Description:</p> <p>HEAD CUSTODIAN / MAINTAINER</p> <p>Marlborough Elementary School</p> <p>Application Deadline: March 6, 2026</p> <p>Start Date: As soon as possible - preferably by April 6, 2026</p> <p>The Marlborough, CT Public School System seeks an experienced Head Custodian/Maintainer to supervise and direct the cleaning, maintenance and security of the building, equipment, and adjacent grounds. He/she responds to emergency situations, such as weather impacts, power failure, plumbing, heating, and security or vandalism problems. He/she will have an assigned area and shift to carry out the essential functions of a custodian in addition to Head Custodian/Maintainer responsibilities.</p> <p>Responsibilities include: supervising custodial staff; assigning and overseeing daily cleaning and maintenance; performing minor repairs (painting, plumbing, etc.); maintaining inventory and ordering supplies; overseeing contractors; ensuring compliance with safety and governmental regulations; preparing the building for school and community use; responding to emergencies (weather, power, plumbing, heating, security); and assuming facility oversight in the absence of the Director of Operations. For more information, please see the Job Description.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience; five (5) or more years supervising a custodial/maintenance team; experience with janitorial and maintenance best practices; valid CT Class 2 driver's license; strong leadership and communication skills.
