<p>Job Title: TRIO Coordinator</p> <p>Department: TRIO</p> <p>Reports To: Director of TRIO & Learning Services</p> <p>Job Classification: Exempt</p> <p>FTE: 0.75 (1,560 hours per year)</p> <p>Location: Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls, IA</p> <p>Summary: The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the successful administration of the TRIO Student Support Services federal grant program which assists first-generation, low-income, and disabled college students to graduate from the host institution and also transfer to a 4-year university. This position is 0.75FTE.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conducts regular meetings with TRIO SSS eligible participants to educate and assist participants on program of study requirements, graduation requirements along with academic, financial aid and transfer advising. </li><li>Manages and carries out a wide variety of administrative tasks that allows for the successful administration of a federal TRIO SSS grant program. This includes (per the grant): Carrying out day-to-day operation of the Project; working with enrollment services to identify and retain participants; coordinating with other programs serving disadvantaged students; tracking all participant activity; providing recommendations regarding student grant aid awards. Advises 120 TRIO participants in conjunction with the other TRIO SSS staff. </li><li>Provides a variety of educational and other opportunities for participants to learn and grow academically and as a person. This includes grant-specific items such as developing Cultural Enrichment Events, financial literacy workshops, and organizing transfer trips. Connects with community members and other college employees to help facilitate these enrichment activities. </li><li>Prepares, collects, analyzes, and synthesizes a wide variety of data in order to successfully complete annual federal reporting and ECC benchmarks. Creates and manages compliance audits for all paper and electronic documentation. </li><li>Works and communicates professionally with others. Performs in a manner which benefits student learning. </li><li>Supports the overall success of the District by performing other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience: Completion of a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience required. Master's degree preferred.</p> <p>Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to cultivate good rapport and trust with a wide variety of students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to manage time effectively and accomplish tasks by stated deadlines. Knowledge of IVCCD, MCC, & Departmental operations, services, and policies. Ability to use a computer and a variety of computer software effectively. Knowledge of higher education in general and college student development specifically, especially as it relates to first-generation, low-income and disabled students.</p> <p>Base Wage: $40,000-$53,000 annually - actual salary will be based on experience and education.</p> <p>Benefit Information: This position offers a full benefit package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, retirement plan, vacation, sick and staff development opportunities.
