<p>The Position:</p> <p>Assistant Director, Admissions</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Muhlenberg College invites applications for an individual eager to join a dynamic and student-centered Admissions' team. The Assistant Director for Admissions will participate in the recruitment initiatives of the office, including application review, interviewing students, outreach activities, program and event management, and recruitment travel.</p> <p>Schedule & Benefits: This is a full-time, year-round position located in Allentown, PA with hybrid remote work available during application review season. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit institution, Muhlenberg is a qualifying employer under the federal government's Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.</p> <p>Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Represent Muhlenberg College to prospective students, families and counselors at events ranging from one-on-one to large presentations.</p> </li><li> <p>Review applications for admission, interview prospective students, and serve on the Admissions Committee.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage a recruitment territory and participate in extensive recruitment travel throughout the year, maintaining communication with prospective students, families and school counselors.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage program portfolio and confidential records that may include student volunteer programs, data management, office/market research, financial aid counseling, event management, transfer admissions, and communications depending upon skill set and interest.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>The College & Surrounding Area: Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg College is a private, residential, liberal arts college offering baccalaureate and graduate programs. Home to a vibrant arts scene, extensive parks and recreational opportunities, a rich blend of diverse cuisine, and so much more, visit Life in the Lehigh Valley | Muhlenberg College and check out Allentown here.</p> <p>While no one person may possess all the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will have many of the following professional experiences and characteristics:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum one year experience in an undergraduate admission office and/or experience supporting college access and success with high schools, community colleges, and/or community-based organizations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.</p> </li><li> <p>A strong commitment and understanding of the benefits of a residential liberal arts and sciences undergraduate experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective time management and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent written and oral communication skills, with public speaking experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency or fluency in Spanish (position may include coordination of bilingual events and communications) a plus but not required.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive academic and professional environment where all members of our campus community are respected, valued, can succeed, and thrive.</p> </li><li> <p>Willing and able to travel by automobile, train, and airplane and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends (approximately ~4-5 weekends per semester, with remote work available in some cases).</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to transport materials, which may be heavy at times, and to effectively and dynamically present to audiences (e.g. high schools, prospective student days, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.</p> </li><li> <p>Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.</p> </li></ul> <p>To apply, upload your complete application package as a single PDF document.
