Assisting with casting, splinting, DME (durable medical equipment) and general patient and surgical care.</p> <p>Assists in procedure and general maintenance of equipment, supplies and exam rooms.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li>Formal Education Required: </li></ol> <p>a. High school diploma or equivalent</p> <p>b. Orthopedic Technologist Certification preferred</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Experience and Training Required: </li></ol> <p>a. One year PTA, OTA, Exercise Physiology, Medical Assistant (with Orthopedic/Sports Medicine experience) in lieu of Ortho Tech Certification.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: </li></ol> <p>a. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology</p> <p>b. Knowledge of medical terminology</p> <p>c. Basic computer skill</p> <p>d. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Level of Physical Demands: </li></ol> <p>a. Light: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously.</p> <p>b. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time</p> <p>c. Must be able to bend, stoop and lift</p> <p>d. Must have the dexterity to use clinical instruments and equipment</p> <p>e.
