<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Perform basic chair side assisting duties, instrument and equipment maintenance, radiographic proficiency and dental supply inventory. Responsible for providing dental assistant duties as assigned to all sites upon request to cover dental assistant position when assigned site dental assistant is on PTO or leave of absence. Responsible for instrument and equipment maintenance for dental and other departments as needed.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Patient Focus</p> <ul> <li>Chair side Assisting Duties </li><li>Greets and seats patients </li><li>Prepares room for treatment </li><li>Take any appropriate radiograph as requested. </li></ul> <p>Planning and Organizing</p> <ul> <li>Keeps instruments cleaned and maintained </li><li>Keep dental supplies correct and on hand </li><li>Cleans room after treatment to prepare for next patient </li></ul> <p>Checking, Examining, & Recording</p> <ul> <li>Keeps maintenance log </li><li>Notifies Lead Dental Assistant of necessary supplies </li><li>Notifies Lead Dental Assistant in the event of equipment malfunction </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma, GED or equivalent. </li><li>Graduation for a Dental Assistant Program required </li><li>Maryland Dental Radiation Technology Certificate required </li><li>Expanded Functional Certificate preferred </li><li>Certification in Basic Dental Assisting required </li><li>Two years minimum experience required </li><li>Reliable transportation to commute between locations </li></ul>
