<p>Severe Disabilities Certification PREFERRED.</p> <p>Old Rochester Regional School District is seeking a passionate and innovative Severe Disabilities Licensed special education teacher for grades 7 & 8 at the Junior High School. This position will entail responsibilities for day-to-day management of the assigned class, provision of instruction and supervision of classroom support staff.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Providing opportunities for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. </li><li>Encouraging students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior and achievement, which includes working with support staff when needed. </li><li>Collaboration with related service providers. </li><li>Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students' needs. </li><li>Employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media </li><li>Writing and implementing student IEPs. </li><li>Conducting achievement testing and writing corresponding reports. </li><li>Attending IEP meetings. </li><li>Tracking progress and quarterly reports in regards to IEP goals and achievement. </li><li>Ongoing parental contact </li></ul> <p>Old Rochester Regional believes in the importance of being a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization that enables our students and staff to thrive.
