<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Registered Radiological Technician is responsible for preparing patients for physician exams / treatment, assisting physician, performing diagnostic imaging / tests and providing patient education and maintenance of clinical area.</p> <p>Department Summary</p> <p>Orthopedic and Sports Medicine practice with high volume of surgical patients.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of Accredited Radiological Technician Program </li><li>Certified or registered Radiological Technician, or equivalent Ohio license </li><li>Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required </li><li>Prior medical experience encouraged </li><li>Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required </li><li>Knowledge of current radiology policies and procedures as well as knowledge and use of resources necessary to maintain quality and cost-efficient services </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Computer Word Processing and computer technology (typing 50 WPM) </li><li>Medical Terminology </li><li>Excellent organization skills with focus on detail </li><li>Self-motivated with ability to work with little supervision </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively and motivate others </li></ul> <p>Department Skills</p> <ul> <li>Prepares patients for physician exam </li><li>Performs diagnostic imaging / test as ordered by physician </li><li>Manages clinical data </li><li>Maintains clinical area </li><li>Assists with general office duties </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned in support of the office </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Work eight to nine hours a day </li><li>Shifts are variable to volume of department. Rotation may be needed </li><li>Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate floor coverage </li><li>Cross training in all areas in the department is required </li><li>Staff may be assigned to different locations within the foundation </li></ul> <p>Hazardous Exposure Category</p> <p>Category II - Includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues by exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment.
