<p>Hiring for an Aerospace Quality Engineer in Cheshire, CT</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Join a leading organization specializing in the development and supply of flight-critical aerospace and defense components and assemblies. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure all quality-related activities are efficiently managed, maintaining the highest standards in our state-of-the-art facilities located in Connecticut.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Ensure processes and procedures defined in the Quality Management System (QMS) are understood and followed to maintain Quality System Approvals. </li><li>Lead and support internal and external audit activities including System, NADCAP, and Customer audits to meet requirements and maintain approvals. </li><li>Be aware of Export Control requirements and implement necessary controls to ensure export compliance at all times. </li><li>Drive a robust Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process with real-time daily stand-up Quality reviews, non-conformance tracking using Elephant charts, and SPC data collection actions. </li><li>Support process improvements with timely reporting of Quality KPIs, driving year-on-year improvements in quality performance. </li><li>Manage all aspects of the Quality Planning, New Product Introduction (NPI), and First Article Inspection (FAI) process in line with the Quality NPI tracker to ensure on-time completion of Quality NPI requirements. </li><li>Conduct Contract Review including Customer PO, requirements, and drawing specifications. </li><li>Create IMS and FAI Templates in line with customer requirements. </li><li>Develop and validate CMM Programs using ballooned documents. </li><li>Secure special process approvals and NDT certifications. </li><li>Coordinate customer submittals and approvals using customer web portals. </li><li>Attend customer training and attain certifications for self-release programs. </li><li>Utilize statistical software (Prolink) to establish, analyze, and address quality process control data. </li><li>Lead regular SPC review sessions with engineering and develop action plans for continuous process improvements. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Must be a U.S. Person as defined by US Government and able to work with ITAR related data. </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required. </li><li>2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment required, aerospace preferred. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. </li><li>Working knowledge of inspection techniques and quality engineering practices. </li><li>Understanding of data collection and statistical process control (SPC) techniques. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, aerospace preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of root cause analysis, supplier quality, ISO 9001, Gage R&R, NPI, QMS, and airfoil. </li><li>Experience with stators, vanes, or airfoils is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position operates within a supportive and growth-oriented environment, offering a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, a profit-sharing program, opportunities for career growth, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage starting the month after hire.
