<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Coordinator of Disability Services - (part-time)</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Wraparound Services/Student Services and Enrollment Management</p> <p>PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River, with occasional travel to all Bristol campus locations.</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Director, Wraparound Services</p> <p>POSITION STATUS: This is a part-time, state-funded, MCCC/MTA unit position without benefits, not to exceed 18.5 hours per week. Some nights and weekends will be required.</p> <p>SALARY: $36.55/hr</p> <p>STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>The Disabilities Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring students with learning disabilities receive equal access to college programs, activities, and services. This position coordinates comprehensive disability services including program development, accommodations, compliance with ADA and related legislation, outreach, grant administration, and supervision of assigned staff. The Coordinator collaborates across campus and with external partners to promote disability awareness, support student success, and foster an inclusive academic environment.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct student support for an assigned caseload of up to 125 students with a focus on working with students with complex or intersecting disabilities. </li><li>Engage with students regularly to establish meaningful interpersonal relationships. </li><li>Coordinate with external diagnostic, vocational, and funding agencies to enhance student success. </li><li>Collaborate with faculty, advisors, coaches, tutors, family members, and external service providers within legal and institutional guidelines to support students. </li><li>Conduct detailed intake interviews and review medical and diagnostic documentation to determine student needs and eligibility for reasonable accommodations. </li><li>Design, implement, and monitor individualized strategic learning plans incorporating reasonable accommodations. </li><li>Oversee accommodations provision including extended testing time, adaptive technology, and accessible instructional materials. </li><li>Serve as the single point of contact for outside agencies (e.g., Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission) and contracted vendors (e.g., interpreters, assistive technology, specialized devices) to coordinate services for students. </li><li>Manage conversion of course materials and exams into accessible formats (audio, Braille, large print). </li><li>Supervise alternative testing sites to ensure accessibility and appropriate accommodations. </li><li>Develop and maintain a comprehensive network of academic support services and alternative learning/testing methodologies tailored for students with disabilities. </li><li>Implement policies and procedures ensuring compliance with ADA, Section 504, FERPA, and relevant federal and state laws. </li><li>Support grant-related activities including application and compliance reporting. </li><li>Maintain accurate student records, databases, and program documentation using designated Bristol systems including, but not limited to, Banner, EAB Navigate 360, and Maxient. </li><li>Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution for disability-related concerns involving students, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of disability laws, regulations, assistive technologies, and best practices. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Sociology, or a closely related field, such as student personnel or higher education. * </li><li>Minimum of six (6) years of experience and/or training that includes learning disabilities assessment and program coordination, ADA compliance, vocational rehabilitation, diagnostic testing, or adaptive/assistive technology. * </li><li>An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 business software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication, including interpersonal skills. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of higher education principles, practices, and procedures. </li><li>Ability to work occasional evening hours and weekends. </li><li>Reliable transportation to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or worksites as required. </li><li>The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Professional experience working with Banner Student Information Systems, DegreeWorks, EAB Navigate 360, and Maxient. </li><li>Demonstrated experience working in higher education, with a preference for experience working at a community college. </li><li>Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English, with a preference for American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, or Portuguese. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight. </li><li>Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals.
