After the successful completion of one (1) year as a permanent competitive Personal Computer Technician/Trainee, the incumbent is upgraded to Personal Computer Technician, without further examination, and is granted permanent status in that title. Direct supervision is received from Personal Computer Technician. Does related work as required.</p> <p>EXAMPLES:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the maintenance of office automation hardware and software. </li><li>Installs, configures and operates application software and hardware on workstations; </li><li>Assists in technical microcomputer troubleshooting problems and the repair and maintenance of equipment; </li><li>Delivers and assists with the installation of PC's and PC related hardware and software where needed. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Candidates must meet the following requirement on or before the date of the written test.</p> <p>OPEN-COMPETITIVE:</p> <p>Graduation from high school or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma and one (1) High School course in computer science.</p> <p>RATED EVALUATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>You will complete a questionnaire that asks for specific information on your information technology education (formal degrees, IT-related training courses, certifications) and experience.
