<p>Responsibilities & Requirements</p> <p>The Clinical Dietetic Technician:</p> <p>Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients within the scope of practice of the registered dietetic technician. Completes nutrition evaluations on assigned patients. Provides diet education for patients and families. Works in Call Center as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Accurately manages position paperwork (workload documentation, EMR documentation, meal order call log, etc.). </li><li>Follows correct hand hygiene procedures (sanitizes hands before and after entering patient rooms and before wrapping silverware, washes hands as needed, etc.). </li><li>Utilizes appropriate scripting and responds to patient/internal and external customers (effectively uses HEAL principle, interacts effectively with medical and ancillary staff, patients and families, able to describe menu item ingredients, etc.) </li><li>Effectively and safely uses position equipment, performing applicable cleaning/sanitation procedures (cleans high touch surfaces per guidelines, able to problem-solve software and printer malfunctions, etc.). </li><li>Uses electronic patient medical record (EPIC) and patient menu software (VST) correctly. </li><li>Able to accurately evaluate patient population utilizing appropriate evidence-based documentation through the nutrition care process (identifies and implements intervention, develops effective plan of care, etc.). </li><li>Utilizes nutrition care process to counsel patient population regarding nutrition-related diseases. </li><li>Correctly manages room service meal selections (able to negotiate with patient to optimize patient satisfaction while adhering to diet order, maintains near 100% accuracy in processing patient meal orders, prioritizes patient calls to optimize patient satisfaction, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Job Qualifications:</p> <p>Associate degree in Dietetic Technology or Bachelors' degree in Nutrition and Dietetics</p> <p>Registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration</p> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills</p> <p>Computer literacy in business and nutrition software applications preferred</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>One to two years' clinical nutrition experience in acute or long-term care preferred</p> <p>Key Words: food, nutrition, meal service, food service, room service, chef, sous chef, culinary, food prep</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Kettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 13 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio.
