Together, we empower our students through intentional, holistic support within flexible, innovative, and inclusive settings-preparing graduates to thrive professionally and personally, and to lead with a commitment to progress in New Jersey and beyond.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Reporting to the Associate Director of First-Time Admissions, the Assistant Director supports overall recruitment efforts and is responsible for planning and managing effectively all aspects of high-quality on and off campus Admissions events for prospective students, families, and groups. ?The selected candidates serve as an integral part of the admissions team and, as such, participates in recruitment and conversion functions and events. As a result, the position requires extensive travel and presence on and off campus to assigned geographic territories in order to identify and maintain relationships with prospective, admitted, and enrolled students and their families. As such, this position is not performed via remote operation. Additionally, the Assistant Director will manage effectively his or her assigned geographic territories, render admissions decisions.</p> <p>The Assistant Director of Admissions for Event Management will generate student applications and assist students, as a trusted advisor, in the enrollment process being mindful that the University endeavors to retain students and maintain a student body that is diversely and academically prepared.</p> <p>Department Overview</p> <p>The Department of University Admissions within the Division of Enrollment Management is dedicated to creating a seamless, fully supported pathway to enrollment at William Paterson University. The University supports a diverse student body and is invested in the success of each and every student. That investment begins with the Department of University Admissions where dedicated Admissions Counselors reach out to prospective students and lend support through and into the classroom.</p> <p>For more information, please visit?https://www.wpunj.edu/admissions/</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Counseling prospective students and their families on the admissions/enrollment processes and promoting the benefits of attending the University.</p> </li><li> <p>Achieving a clear set of established enrollment goals through effectively managing assigned geographic territories.</p> </li><li> <p>Generating inquiry actions/applications, counseling through the application process, rendering admission decisions, and facilitating enrollment next steps.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively participating in admissions events on and off campus, which could include evenings and weekends on a 12-month calendar, including frequent Saturday hours; extensive travel for approximately 12 weeks in the fall and 8 weeks in the spring.</p> </li><li> <p>Cultivating relationships with area high schools, community colleges, traditional four-year institutions, professional organizations, community organizations, school counselors, independent counselors, students, and parents.</p> </li><li> <p>Leading information sessions and presentations to prospective students and parents during school visits, college fairs, regional fairs, panels and onsite visits; topics include academic, social and financial offerings, as well as admissions and scholarship process and standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the execution and implementation of the recruitment strategy through events on and off campus. This includes both in-person and virtual events held for prospective and admitted students.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain the on-campus experience including general tours, academic tours, information sessions, open houses, Will.Power Days, instant decisions days, and group visits. Update the website to reflect all visitor experience options and policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Leverage feedback and university strategic goals to help develop new and innovative events (both in-person and virtual) for prospective and admitted students.</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely and develop rapport with other departments in the university to develop and implement events including but not limited to Hospitality Services, Office of Residence Life, Office of Student Activities, Academics, and other administrative departments. Assist these departments with running their prospective, admitted and enrolled student programming through Slate and serve as additional support for on-campus events, as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise and responsible for hiring and onboarding all student staff, including tour guides, and student volunteers.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement office policies and procedures as it relates to campus visitors. Create staff schedules for in-office and virtual assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicating regularly with prospective, admitted and enrolled students and their families in print, phone, email, text, and social media.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting the University admissions team with walk-ins, phone campaigns, telephone calls and web-based inquiries.</p> </li><li> <p>Performing other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the position.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelors degree in communication, education, management, or related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Two (2) years experience in an admissions department at a college or university.</p> </li><li> <p>Please submit an application for priority review by January 16th.*</p> </li></ul> <p>Starting Salary - AFT Range 21 - $63,833.23- $73,415.99</p> <p>This position may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health and dental insurance and retirement plans.
