<p>THIS IS NOT A CIVIL SERVICE POSITION. ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT</p> <p>To supervise Day Camp Staff, Campers and activities at Kenner Parks and Recreation Day Camp.</p> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Leisure Service SupervisorPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  </p> <p>To supervise Day Camp Counselors and Campers at Kenner Parks and Recreation Day Camp. Coordinate camp schedules, onsite activities, field trips, etc. planned by Leisure services as well has creating their own to fill in between the daily activities. To be the representative for the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department at day camp for the interpretation of the rules and regulations.  To be responsible to report and handle to Kenner Parks and Recreation Department any problems that may occur during camp.</p> <p> </p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT - HOURS WORKED:</p> <p>Will be required to work at assigned location of Day Camp.  Work hours will be determined by schedule set for day camp by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department, Leisure Service Division.</p> <p> </p> <p>COMMUNICATION SKILLS:</p> <p>This individual must be able to read and to be able to comprehend directions from the Leisure Service Manager concerning various rules and regulations set forth by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department, Leisure Service Division.  Must be able to act as a mediator and supervisor if a dispute occurs during camp.</p> <p> </p> <p>EQUIPMENT USED:</p> <p>All day camp equipment and supplies.</p> <p> </p> <p>PHYSICAL INVOLVEMENT:        </p> <p>Standing, bending and moving constantly during camp time. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.</p> <p> </p> <p>MENTAL INVOLVEMENT:</p> <p>Must be able to communicate in English both orally and in writing.  Must be able to comprehend verbal or written direction and instructions from the Leisure Service Manager.  </p> <p> </p> <p>HUMAN RELATIONS INVOLVEMENT:   </p> <p>To be able to monitor and respond in a responsible manner in various situations and to maintain an objective attitude, tact and discretion under these conditions.Must be age 21 or older. Experience in a leadership role and experience with working with children.</p> <p>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Teacher with a B.S. in Education or Teacher Assistant with 2 years experience or more.</p>
