Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Implements various projects developed by the Water Quality Manager or Water Quality Specialist. Perform regulatory analysis and research on environmental issues of concern to the Water Department. Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets, processes documentation and paperwork according to departmental procedures. Additional duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with comprehensive compliance investigations in accordance with TCEQ procedures. </li><li>Accompany TCEQ representatives during state required sampling events. </li><li>Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and sampling stations. </li><li>Plan and coordinate collection of samples for Total Coliform Rule monitoring program including bacterial, DNA, and chemical sample collection. </li><li>Responsible for preparing report documentation to management and TCEQ. </li><li>Oversee the field analysis of total residual chlorine, free chlorine, free ammonia, monochloramine and nitrite. </li><li>Oversee the collection of samples under the Tank Monitoring program and internal disinfection byproduct monitoring program. </li><li>Ensure all paperwork associated with monitoring programs meet internal quality assurance and quality control standards, coordinate TCEQ sampling programs such as the lead and copper rule, distributing sample containers and instructions to all customers in the program. </li><li>Perform calibration of field equipment for all field activities. </li><li>Perform flushing as part of the City's Dead End Main Flushing program. </li><li>Become proficient in exercising water valves. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires a High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience </li><li>TCEQ Class D Water Operator License must be obtained within one (1) year of hire. </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Texas Municipal Retirement System - the City offers a 2 to 1 match.
