<p>After School Program Teachers are responsible for supporting a safe, structured, and engaging environment for school-age children. Reporting to the Site Coordinator, this role includes supervising students, leading activities, and guiding Teacher's Assistants to ensure high-quality program delivery.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise children in accordance with required student-to-teacher ratios </li><li>Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, following established policies and emergency procedures </li><li>Plan and implement age-appropriate, enriching activities in collaboration with program staff </li><li>Provide supervision during all program components, including classroom time, gym, and outdoor play </li><li>Support students during homework time by offering guidance and assistance </li><li>Promote positive behavior by providing structure, encouragement, and clearexpectations </li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space </li><li>Collaborate with staff to support daily operations and program effectiveness </li><li>Communicate with the Site Coordinator, Program Administrator, and Director regarding behavioral concerns or program needs </li><li>Comply with all policies outlined in the Parent and Staff Handbooks </li><li>Maintain a consistent work schedule aligned with program needs </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>EEC Qualifications equal to Group Leader </li><li>Minimum three years experience working with children. </li></ul> <p>The qualifications listed above are preferential to the duties and responsibilities as listed in the job description but may be waived at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools.</p> <p>WORK SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:</p> <p>Position is available from school dismissal through 6:00PM Monday-Friday during the school year, with additional hours available over the summer months.</p> <p>Salary starting at $20.00 per hour.</p> <p>This position is eligible to participate in the EEC Scholarship Program, providing free educational opportunities!</p> <p>Burlington Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, immigration, sex, gender, pregnancy and pregnancy status, gender identity, sexual orientation, ancestry, age, genetic information, disability, ethnic background, homelessness, or any category protected by state or federal law.
