<p>Are you a High School Junior or Senior looking to learn a trade? A Youth Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to gain new skills and get paid while still in school!</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of a mentor, you will assist the fabrication department by performing the following duties.</p> <ul> <li>Reads set up sheet, identifies appropriate tooling, and properly sets up the Brake Press, Laser, or Punch to avoid scrap, tool, or machine damage </li><li>Selects the appropriate Brake Press, Laser, or Punch program operation and makes feature changes as needed </li><li>Reads and understands American and European blue prints and geometric tolerances to assist with bending and cutting metal </li><li>Uses proper lifting and handling techniques to load and unload steel </li><li>Inspects parts using micrometers, height gauges, and calipers and records the dimensional data on the inspection sheet </li><li>Adjusts the Brake Press, Laser, or Punch to maintain part specifications </li><li>Uses proper deburring techniques to maintain good cosmetic appearance of parts </li><li>Cleans hand tools and tooling and returns to proper location </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.</p> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
