<p>West Boylston Public Schools is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly skilled Special Education Teacher to support elementary students (grades K-4) with multiple disabilities in a structured, nurturing sub-separate classroom. The successful candidate will provide individualized, evidence-based instruction that promotes academic growth, communication, life skills, and independence in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's unique strengths and needs </li><li>Deliver daily instruction in functional academics, communication, adaptive behavior, and daily living skills </li><li>Utilize specialized instructional strategies, including visual supports, AAC, sensory integration, and task analysis </li><li>Implement curriculum and strategies aligned with the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia (ACE) </li><li>Collaborate closely with related service providers (BCBA, OT, PT, SLP, nursing) to support student progress </li><li>Supervise, train, and support paraprofessionals to ensure consistent implementation of instructional strategies and accurate data collection </li><li>Implement positive behavior support plans and maintain detailed, compliant documentation </li><li>Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions </li><li>Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and needs </li><li>Support students with physical and personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene, as appropriate </li></ul> <p>Program Requirements & Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or a similar behavioral support program </li><li>Create a structured, predictable classroom environment that supports student regulation and engagement </li><li>This is an active, hands-on role requiring flexibility, physical engagement, and responsiveness to student needs </li><li>Ability to lift, transfer, and provide physical assistance to students as required </li></ul>
