Valley Hi Nursing home has a unique position available as a Professional Nurse not only to care for the residents in the nursing home but is also responsible for the overall training for the nursing department.</p> <p>Work Schedule: Will vary multiple shifts (Days, PMS, NOC) based on training needs.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Professional Nurse, RN provides professional nursing services to nursing home residents. Assesses resident's physical and mental health status and condition; develops and monitors resident care plans and monitors the administration of medications. In addition to the nursing role, this person is also responsible for the overall training and development of nursing department staff and to assist other Department Heads with the training of facility staff. This includes the coordination of the facility-wide orientation program and other employee skill development related activities.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Provides direct patient care and nursing services to residents according to nursing service and infection control policies and procedures. </li><li>Assists nursing staff with floor nurse responsibilities as needed. </li><li>Maintains and updates resident clinical records as warranted according to established procedures. </li><li>Interacts with residents and their family members to respond to issues or questions. </li><li>Coordinates the Facility Orientation/Onboarding and Training Day programs </li><li>Assists in the recruitment of nursing staff both internally and externally. </li><li>Provides various levels of staff training and development programming as directed, including the identification and development of programming to meet identified concerns or Facility needs. </li><li>Conducts new nurse and CNA training and use to use the facility EMR. </li><li>Interacts with residents, staff, and others throughout the facility to exchange information and efficiently accomplish work assignments. </li><li>Conducts facility-wide drills, in-services and educational opportunities as needed. </li><li>Organizes clinical schedules with community school districts and maintains relationships with outside vendors for educational purposes. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university of nursing. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>2 years long-term care facility experience </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Licensed Nurse </li><li>C.P.R.
