<p>Description</p> <p>READVERTISEMENT</p> <p>Title: Internal Audit Manager</p> <p>Position Number: 0080931</p> <p>Hiring Unit: Board of Regents, Office of the Internal Audit</p> <p>Location: Manoa Campus</p> <p>Date Posted: August 12, 2025</p> <p>Closing Date: August 25, 2025; 11:59 PM, HST</p> <p>Salary: salary schedules and placement information</p> <p>Additional Salary Information: Pay Band C; minimum $6,625/month</p> <p>Commensurate with experience within budgetary limitations</p> <p>Full Time/Part Time: Full-time</p> <p>Temporary/Permanent: Permanent</p> <p>Funding: General</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>(* denotes essential functions)</p> <ul> <li> <p>*Lead in the development and execution of the annual audit plan, covering areas of higher education, research, finance, operations, compliance, and technology.</p> </li><li> <p>*Establish and drive a comprehensive audit strategy and methodology (e.g., planning, risk assessment, judgmental and statistical sampling, internal control testing, reporting, corrective actions) using industry-leading audit frameworks, automation, and best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>*Cultivate strong working relationships with management to help identify control gaps, non-compliance, and recommendations for improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>*Develop concise, insightful, and value-adding audit reports with measurable corrective action plans. Form independent audit opinions supported with professional experience, data, and research.</p> </li><li> <p>*Lead advisory engagements in emerging and critical areas of risk, providing expert guidance that align with university mission and objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>*Supervise, train, and mentor audit staff in all aspects of the audit lifecycle by setting measurable goals and having post audit evaluations.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business, accounting, or related field and 6 years of progressively responsible professional experience in external audit, internal audit, and/or risk consulting; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of one (1) accounting or audit certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CGAP, CISA).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in audit methodologies (e.g., IIA, COSO, ISACA).</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a wide range of developing and emerging concepts, principles and methodologies in the area of external audit, internal audit, and/or risk consulting.</p> </li><li> <p>Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a wide range of principles, theories, federal and state laws and systems associated with external audit, internal audit, and/or risk consulting.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to understand problems from a broad interactive perspective and use reasoning to discern underlying principles and issues when problem solving, and apply creative thinking to resolve problems in new and innovative approaches.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated written and verbal competence in presenting ideas, concepts and models clearly using persuasion and negotiation to build consensus and cooperation.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and data analytic software.</p> </li><li> <p>For supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Desirable Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in government accounting and auditing standards (e.g., GASB, GAGAS, and Federal Uniform Guidance Requirements).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in technology audit (e.g., general IT controls, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and disaster recovery).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with audit software (e.g., Audit Board) and use of artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of audit and advisory projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with out-source and co-source audit operating models and management of subject matter experts that aid in the execution of audit and advisory projects.</p> </li></ul> <ol start="6"> <li>Proficiency in database querying and advanced data analytics (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Python) </li></ol> <p>To Apply</p> <p>Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and attach required documents.
