<p>Community Cultural Broker * Urgently Hiring</p> <p>Salary: $19.23 (hourly) / Non-Exempt</p> <p>Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm</p> <p>Hybrid - Remote & Office / Field</p> <ul> <li>Majority of our positions are remote, but services are provided either hybrid or in person </li></ul> <p>Benefits and Perks: Supportive, fun and friendly team environment!</p> <ul> <li>Clients/Families we serve reside in the South Los Angeles, Compton, Watts and Lynwood area. </li></ul> <p>SHIELDS' mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Providing Parents / Caregiver(s) with the skills to maintain a safe and nurturing home for the family. This is accomplished by a "hands-on" approach, addressing issues of: resourcing (housing, clothing, food, hygiene), cleanliness & organization of the home, identifying any safety hazards in the home, educating on nutrition, meal preparation & storage, budgeting etc. Services are typically provided in the home but may assist client in the community (SSI building, housing building, advocate for court, and etc.).</p> <p>Primary Duties</p> <p>Depending on specific program assignment, may perform any or all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Basic advocacy skills. </li><li>Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Efficiently use the computer to include a variety or word processing software, researching resources. </li><li>Provide instruction on essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and household safety. </li><li>Assess Parent / caregiver / family's needs and interests and provide supportive services / resources as needed while regularly updating IHOC / Case Manage on case. </li><li>Engage family in resources meeting in the community at various community agencies, court, and etc. </li><li>Maintain accurate and current progress notes on all contacts, outcomes and follow up plans. Progress notes and in-home visits forms must be submitted within 24 hours of the visit or contact. </li><li>Maintain client files, reports, and statistics per agency and funding requirements. </li><li>Attend weekly supervision, training, and meetings as assigned or required. </li><li>Works with SHIELDS staff to develop program objectives, implementation strategies, and evaluation criteria to refine and enhance service delivery. </li><li>Maintain and develop working relationships with local linkage and referral agencies. </li><li>Mandated Reporting - CCBs are mandated reporters. A valid car insurance and registration is required. </li><li>Provides services within a culturally sensitive, ethnic informed model of practice and is respectful to the community and clients </li><li>COVID-19 vaccination required. May request medical or religious exemption if applicable. </li></ul> <p>These requirements are typically met by a combination of education at a high school Diploma level and experience in Social Services or related field preferred or lived experience.
