BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as a Corrosion Technician/Sr. Corrosion Tech at our Luthersburg Transmission in Luthersburg, PA.</p> <p>One (1) year of technical experience required. Technical is defined as aviation maintenance, diesel, natural gas, compression, instrumentation, controls, electrical, electro-mechanical or corrosion.</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of corrosion control and electrical principles. </li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills </li><li>Knowledge of DOT regulations related to corrosion, and record keeping. </li><li>Ability to use and maintain corrosion testing, cathodic protection equipment, and line locating equipment. </li><li>Ability to define problems, collect data, document findings and draw valid conclusions. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Ability to interpret technical manuals, maps, specifications, plans, and wiring diagrams pertaining to corrosion control. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, speak persuasively and develop rapport. </li><li>Ability to operate personal computer and utilize software packages. </li><li>Ability to work effectively in inclement weather conditions. Ability to carry equipment and parts (50-100 pounds) from vehicle to worksite, possibly over rough terrain. </li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a company vehicle. </li><li>Maintains required certifications. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>Associate (Typically two years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree.)</p> <p>Preferred Degree</p> <p>Technical</p> <p>Technical is defined as aviation maintenance, diesel, natural gas, compression, instrumentation, controls, electrical, electro-mechanical or corrosion.</p> <p>Licenses, Certifications, Qualifications, or Standards</p> <p>AMPP CP-1 (cathodic protection tester) Certification must be obtained within 15 months of start date.</p> <p>Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation.</p> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.</p> <p>Position descriptions are developed as guides for the employees of BHE GT&S. The management team of BHE GT&S reserves the right to modify job responsibilities and position requirements to meet the corporate business goals and needs.</p> <p>This role installs, operates, and maintains components that avert pipeline and facility corrosion.</p> <ul> <li>Inspects and tests facilities and equipment to identify existing and potential corrosion problems. </li><li>Recommends course of action to eliminate or retard corrosion activity. </li><li>Troubleshoots corrosion issues using appropriate instruments, software or diagnostic equipment. </li><li>Installs and inspects cathodic protection equipment. </li><li>Repairs, replaces, and services corrosion equipment components. </li><li>Identifies outside currents negatively affecting company operations and initiates corrective steps. </li><li>Utilizing line locating equipment. </li><li>Monitors advancements related to corrosion technology practices, techniques, and regulations. </li><li>Maintains interactive work relationship with Specialists and Engineers to accurately and effectively complete job responsibilities. </li><li>Advises and assists in corrosion control design. </li><li>Directs and supports contractors to complete evaluations and reports, and to develop mitigation measures addressing deficiencies in the cathodic protection systems. </li><li>Perform other duties as requested or assigned. </li><li>Relocation assistance for this position is available dependent upon eligibility requirements. </li></ul>
