<p>Description and Functions</p> <p>Open Until Filled</p> <p>GENERAL DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>Perform electrical work, including construction, remodel, repair, and preventative maintenance of electrical systems in the Wyoming Army National Guard facilities located in the Southeast quadrant (Cheyenne, Wheatland, Laramie, and Torrington), to include over 500,000 square feet of facility space under the direction of a Master Electrician.</p> <p>Human Resource Contact: Molly Skala / molly.skala@wyo.gov</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.</p> <ul> <li>Perform electrical inspection, troubleshooting, design, installation, alteration, and repair of main and branch circuits of interior and exterior electrical systems. </li><li>Perform work on all phases of electrical distribution systems repairs and replacement of components on a large number of complex, electronically and digitally controlled systems, both interior and exterior. Contacts outside vendors for parts, technical assistance, repairs, and installations. </li><li>Schedules tests, makes repairs, and files reports to meet national fire alarm code standards and other Wyoming State authorities. </li><li>Repair and replace power distribution panels, light fixtures, switches, receptacles, heating, and cooling motors, compressors, emergency generators, and electrical parts for HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, and electronic/digital controls. </li><li>Calculates loads for electrical equipment and designs the installation to meet or exceed the National Electrical Code and any requirements by the state of Wyoming. </li><li>Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs; assess conditions of system components to determine estimated useful life, suitability, efficiency, and repairs needed to meet industry norms. </li><li>Assist with general construction activities, including work on HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and other skilled trades operations as directed. </li><li>Maintain generators, transfer switches, and components of emergency systems. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Preference may be given to applicants with a Journeyman Electrician License and three (3) or more years of electrical experience.</p> <p>Required to obtain/maintain a Driver's License</p> <p>Required to obtain/maintain Federal Security Clearance</p> <p>Wyoming Journeyman Electrical License</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of National, State, and Local electrical codes. </li><li>Knowledge of basic electrical, heating, and air conditioning. </li><li>Knowledge of the application of electrical and other test equipment. </li><li>Knowledge of basic construction and renovation standards, methods, and practices </li><li>Employee may be subject to after-hours callback or reporting to work outside of their normally scheduled hours </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>As required by the licensing board</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:</p> <p>Journeyman Electrician License</p> <p>Necessary Special Requirements</p> <p>PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Required to travel 30-40% of the time (mostly day trips) </li><li>This position is classified as essential personnel </li><li>May be subject to call back 24 hours/7 days a week </li><li>Employee may be subject to after-hours callback or reporting to work outside of their normally scheduled hours </li></ul> <p>NOTES:</p> <ul> <li>FLSA: Non-Exempt </li><li>Attach a DD214 for Veteran points consideration </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>007-Wyoming Military Department - CFMO</p> <p>Click here to view the State of Wyoming Classification and Pay Structure.</p> <p>URL: http://agency.governmentjobs.com/wyoming/default.cfm</p> <p>The State of Wyoming is an Equal Opportunity Employer and actively supports the ADA and reasonably accommodates qualified applicants with disabilities.</p> <p>Class Specifications are subject to change, please refer to the A & I HRD Website to ensure that you have the most recent version.</p>
