Degree, 48 credit hours, or have successfully passed the Paraprofessional Praxis Test).</p> <p>Two years' experience in school setting or working with children or combination of education and experience totaling two years.</p> <p>Ability to lift between 30-50 pounds in specific situations.</p> <p>Regular and predictable attendance which is an essential function of this position.</p> <p>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Competency with fundamental reading, writing, arithmetic & communication skills.</p> <p>Ability to understand and follow directions.</p> <p>Ability to work harmoniously with children, staff and community.</p> <p>Training and experience working with population relevant to the assigned school.</p> <p>Medical knowledge, may include first aid and/or CPR certified.</p> <p>Role Responsibilities</p> <p>Assist with activities of daily living, including physical care and physical management of student as needed and appropriate.</p> <p>Assist with instructional activities.</p> <p>Assist in maintaining classroom organization and a positive learning environment.</p> <p>Assist with the use of classroom equipment and materials.</p> <p>Assist with the supervision and management of students during instructional and/or non-instructional activities.</p> <p>Provide support with individualized programs.</p> <p>Help students' master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.</p> <p>Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.</p> <p>Knowledgeable with student's health plan of care.</p> <p>Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.</p> <p>Other duties as appropriate.</p> <p>Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental Requirements</p> <p>The Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental demands represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
