Based on Education and Experience as outlined in CBA</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Education Support Personnel, commonly referred to as Paraprofessionals, provide support that involves working with other people, employees and/or students, and working in a supportive role to a teacher or administrator. Paraprofessionals assigned to the Life Skills Academy & Transition Services commonly perform duties including, but not limited to those below.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>? Illinois Educator License with Stipulations issued by ISBE endorsed as a Paraprofessional</p> <p>? Knowledge of basic office equipment and/or programs such as:</p> <p>? Personal computer, email, Google Docs, copy machine, document shredder, etc.</p> <p>? Ability to work independently and use good judgement.</p> <p>? Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of people; students, staff, parents, community stakeholders.</p> <p>? Able to maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA regulations.</p> <p>? IL Licensed driver, with a clean driving record for the past three years.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES & PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The criterion indicated below are intended to describe various types of work that may be performed. The exclusion of specific responsibilities does not prohibit them if the work is similar, related, or a logical task of the position.</p> <p>? Serve as a positive role model to students in community and instructional settings. ? Provide 1:1 instruction/small group instruction in both classroom & community vocational settings.</p> <p>Communicate with employers regularly.</p> <p>? Advise Transition Coordinator of possible developments or concerns.</p> <p>? Evaluate student progress and record data.</p> <p>? Implement medical or behavior plans specific to student needs as necessary.</p> <p>? Work flexibly with students of varying abilities.</p> <p>? Recognize opportunities to fade support when applicable.</p> <p>? Provide input into job development and additional/alternative job duties for students. ? Attend team meetings when applicable.</p> <p>? Demonstrate professional work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.</p> <p>? Promote a positive image of District 117</p> <p>? Assist with required paperwork including but not limited to:</p> <p>? DRS forms, transportation notices, student data, and classroom correspondence. ?
