As we continue to expand our market presence and push the boundaries of what's possible in semiconductor technology, we invite you to be part of our journey to creating the next generation of memory solutions that will define the future of computing.</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>SK hynix is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as strategic legal counsel for our new cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, Indiana. This role requires exceptional legal expertise across commercial, regulatory, and government affairs domains. The ideal candidate will navigate complex legal frameworks while effectively liaising between our Indiana operations, San Jose office, and SK hynix headquarters. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape legal strategy for a major semiconductor investment in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead all legal aspects of establishing and operating our Indiana semiconductor manufacturing facility, including commercial agreements, construction contracts, and operational compliance </li><li>Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal advice on commercial contracts with various business partners </li><li>Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant US regulations affecting semiconductor operations </li><li>Develop policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance across the organization </li><li>Analyze legal claims, investigate facts, and provide strategic recommendations to management </li><li>Coordinate with the parent company's legal team on cross-border matters and corporate governance </li><li>Manage relationships with federal, state, and local government officials and agencies </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Juris Doctor degree from a top-tier US law school in the United States </li><li>Active membership in at least one state bar </li><li>A minimum of 8 years of experience in law firms or as an in-house counsel (or both) </li><li>Demonstrated expertise in commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution </li><li>Experience with construction projects and related contracts </li><li>Proven ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments </li><li>Exceptional communication skills, with ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders </li><li>Experience with regulatory matters </li><li>Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in working in a large corporation and in cooperating with the parent company, affiliates and/or subsidiaries </li><li>Experience in in the semiconductor or advanced technology manufacturing sector </li><li>Experience with respect to the Chips Act </li><li>Experience working in a multicultural or international environment </li><li>Knowledge of Indiana state regulations and incentive programs </li><li>Experience in establishing new legal entities and operation </li></ul> <p>Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Authorized to work in the US </li><li>Willingness to travel periodically to San Jose, Seoul, and other locations as needed </li><li>Ability to work extended hours when necessary due to global time differences </li></ul> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity:</p> <p>SKHYA is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
