Bridgestone and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide range of Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand products and solutions to address the needs of a broad range of customers and industries.</p> <p>Job Category</p> <p>Legal, Compliance & Audit</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Lead Environmental Specialist oversees environmental compliance programs, supports cross-functional teams, manages regulatory reporting, and drives continuous improvement in environmental incident performance. This includes managing and analyzing product chemical and environmental incident data to support compliance reporting and decision-making.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance Management </li></ol> <ul> <li>Monitor and interpret environmental regulations (local, national, international) to ensure organizational compliance. </li><li>Develop and maintain environmental compliance programs aligned with internal policies and external standards (e.g., ISO 14001, TSCA, REACH). </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Data Management, Analysis & Reporting </li></ol> <ul> <li>Manage and analyze product chemical and environmental incident data to support reporting and performance tracking. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, regulatory submissions, and correspondence. </li><li>Develop dashboards and tools to monitor key metrics. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Auditing, Incident Management & Risk Mitigation </li></ol> <ul> <li>Support internal and external environmental audits, verifications, and inspections. </li><li>Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to environmental incidents to identify potential compliance risks. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Training, Communication & Awareness </li></ol> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver corporate environmental compliance training to internal teams. </li><li>Communicate regulatory updates and compliance expectations across departments. </li><li>Promote awareness of environmental responsibilities and best practices. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>Customer & Stakeholder Engagement </li></ol> <ul> <li>Respond to customer inquiries regarding environmental compliance, including chemical composition of products and packaging. </li><li>Serve as a liaison with external agencies, industry groups, and regulatory bodies. </li></ul> <ol start="6"> <li>Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement </li></ol> <ul> <li> <p>Participate as Global Environmental Working Group EMS Task Force Member</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate, Drive and Track EMS TF Requirements to ensure conformance implementation.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate across Bridgestone business units to align environmental compliance efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive continuous improvement in environmental compliance processes and systems.</p> </li></ul> <ol start="7"> <li>EMS Management & Document Control </li></ol> <ul> <li>Support implementation and maintenance of BSAM's Environmental Management System (EMS) </li><li>Author, update, and manage environmental standards and documentation. </li><li>Ensure alignment of EMS processes across business units and maintain document control protocols. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.</p> <p>At Bridgestone, you are Free to Be</p> <p>We believe people can only provide superior service and quality to others when they bring their whole self to work.
