<p>Primary Purpose:</p> <p>Provide additional and supplemental instruction for identified At-Risk students</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education / Certification:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree from accredited university</p> <p>Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned</p> <p>ESL Certification required within six months of employment</p> <p>Completion of Reading Academy (preferred)</p> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <p>Expert knowledge of classroom management, effective instructional strategies and practices</p> <p>Ability to demonstrate and develop these effective practices for classroom teachers</p> <p>Ability to support program effectiveness and program compliance</p> <p>Ability to coordinate between content areas</p> <p>Ability to analyze and interpret data,</p> <p>Ability to evaluate and enhance delivery of effective instructional practices</p> <p>Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills</p> <p>Ability to establish and maintain relationships with campus teachers and administrators</p> <p>Experience/Other Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum 1 year of teaching experience</p> <p>Major Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <p>Instructional Management</p> <ul> <li>Provides high quality supplemental instruction for At-Risk students. </li><li>Helps teachers to analyze classroom formative assessment student data and plan for effective </li><li>Consults frequently with classroom teachers on matters relating to instructional methods and </li><li>Recommends use of varied instructional materials including textbooks, technology, references, kits, trade books, and other materials. </li><li>Works with At-risk students whose learning difficulty or complexity requires a high degree of professional skill and knowledge. </li><li>Helps teachers to diagnose student strengths and weaknesses, matching these skills with appropriate techniques, materials, and/or technology for academic improvement. </li><li>Facilitates teacher implementation of state and district curriculum </li><li>Participates in design, implementation and evaluation of campus staff development. </li><li>Attends appropriate professional meetings and workshops to maintain proficiency and to acquire new ideas for instructional improvement. Informs administration of the effects of current and impending </li></ul> <p>Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Organizes campus grade level or content meetings to plan for improvement. </li><li>Provides assistance and/or support as needed to students. </li><li>Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with parents, students, and teachers. </li><li>Keeps school staff informed as to new development in subject matter areas. </li></ul> <p>Policy, Reports and Law</p> <ul> <li>Orients beginning teachers and instructional aides as to the philosophy, procedures and materials for the intervention program. </li><li>Compiles, maintains, and files all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents </li><li>Complies with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy. </li></ul> <p>Professional Goals and Growth</p> <ul> <li>Expands leadership skills and knowledge base through self-initiated professional development </li><li>Conducts oneself in a professional, ethical manner in accordance with New Braunfels ISD Standards of Conduct and complies with the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics. </li></ul> <p>Communications and Community Support</p> <ul> <li>Attends and participates in bi-monthly district meetings with curriculum specialists and communicates with campus as appropriate. </li><li>Keeps the campus informed as to the purposes and progress of district and state instructional program(s) and requirements. </li><li>Demonstrates awareness of district-community needs and initiates activities to meet needs. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <p>Supervise assigned teacher aide(s).</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:</p> <p>Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals</p> <p>Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting</p> <p>Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
