Annually, over $250 million is distributed to local governments through either formulaic distributions or competitive grant programs. In all, more than twenty separate funding programs are managed by the unit, including both state tax and federal programs including being the main point of contact and compliance for economic development projects using federal funds. The work unit serves the entire state of Colorado.</p> <p>This position provides program coordination within the work unit and develops, coordinates and implements multiple aspects of the programs in the unit including applications and funding decisions, coordinating application review with the regional team, coordinating all logistics for advisory committee meetings and grant hearings, development of grant cycle schedules for all programs, reviewing and approving reports, and reviewing grant payment requests.</p> <p>The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Managing grant awards in multiple financial tiers, initiatives, and out-of-cycle awards</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures compliance with grant-making requirements as established in statute</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes the grants portal to create grant applications and record all required data necessary to report on the status of applications, contracts, project information,</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews, collects, and analyzes data submitted by regional offices in the project pro/cons and defines and resolves issues encountered in order to ensure accuracy and consistency of analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees and monitors the assigned projects or contracts.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures compliance with laws and regulations relevant to the project.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides technical assistance to stakeholders to ensure required documents meet standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzes data to ensure appropriate actions are taken to complete projects/contracts.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides training for stakeholders, applicants, or grantees.</p> </li><li> <p>Determines local government's compliance with budget, audit, and other statutory requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Plans and develops committee meetings, hearings, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Designs the structure of data needed for tracking and reporting on numerous requests for funding, ensuring timely and accurate access to program information for staff, division leadership, Advisory Committee, partner agencies, legislature, Governor's office, etc. </p> </li><li> <p>Prepares, processes, and distributes award and/or denial letters</p> </li><li> <p>Determines each grant cycle timeline, including deadlines, meeting schedules, etc</p> </li></ul> <p>Class Code & Classification Description</p> <p>H1N3XX Community and Economic Development III</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Experience Only:</p> <p>Six (6) years of experience working with grant management, grant applications, grant monitoring, providing training , analyzing data . </p> <p>OR</p> <p>Education and Experience: A combination of related education in public policy, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field (as determined by the agency) AND experience as described above equal to six (6) years.</p> <p>Ensure that the 'Work Experience" section of the application is complete and contains all
