Aquarion Water Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eversource.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Supply Operations Department is looking for an intern! This internship will provide you with valuable hands-on experience in a real-world utilities environment allowing you to gain exposure to business operations.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist the Chief Operator with the collection of water samples and perform chemical and physical laboratory testing such as turbidity, pH, and UV254. </li><li>Review and interpret water quality information and data with Chief Operator to ensure water quality and identify any process control issues. </li><li>Under general direction of Chief Operator review operation of treatment plant pumps, motors, chemical feed systems and other equipment to assure optimum plant performance. </li><li>Assist with the operation and adjustment of gatehouse valves, screens, grates, reservoirs and related activities. </li><li>Interest in water treatment/process and/or water quality preferred. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to work independently, thoroughly, and safely, applying training given. </li><li>Basic computer skills - desktop knowledge and good typing. </li><li>Ability to help out with general plant maintenance. </li><li>Knowledge of basic tool usage would be helpful. </li><li>Hard working, self-motivating. </li><li>Able to work with others and follow safe working procedures. </li></ul> <p>Education/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in an accredited college program. </li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Salary</p> <ul> <li>This position will run from mid-May through the end of August. </li><li>Intern will report to our Greenwich location. </li><li>Full-time (40 hours) is preferred. </li><li>Intern will be expected to work from 7:00AM-3:30PM. </li><li>This role will pay $19.00 an hour. </li></ul> <p>Aquarion Water Company is an equal opportunity employer, and we prohibit discrimination based on age, color, disability, marital or parental status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other legally protected status in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.</p>
