<p>Description</p> <p>Family Court of St. Louis County is hiring for a Deputy Juvenile Officer - Assessment and Screening Unit in the Delinquency Department.</p> <p>Grade 10 $23.10 hourly. Part-Time (24 hours per week)</p> <p>Hours: Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays (Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, 3pm-11pm)</p> <p>This position is eligible for the 10% addition to pay effective January 12, 2020. This is a non-merit position.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <p>Work involves making admission decisions using a standardized assessment tool for youth who are presented to the Assessment and Screening Center for status offenses, misdemeanor and felony law violations. Work also involves administering Miranda Rights and processing after hour requests for judicial custody for abuse and neglect matters. Work also involves responding to inquiries from law enforcement officers, Children's Division workers, parents/custodians and concerned citizens.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field (Master's degree strongly preferred), plus at least one year of professional work experience working with youth and families or any equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>All applicants conditionally offered a permanent part-time, full-time, term or on-call position will be required to submit to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be paid by the County. Applicants will also be required to submit to an extensive background and criminal record check.</p> <p>EOE.
