<p>Description</p> <p>Company name: Philadelphia Corporation for Aging</p> <p>Title of position: SECRETARY I - LONG TERM CARE ASSESSMENT</p> <p>Position type: Full Time</p> <p>Pay range: $35,875.35 - $41,530.20 varies with experience</p> <p>Location: PCA Main Building</p> <p>THE ORGANIZATION</p> <p>A private nonprofit organization founded in 1973, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) is a large agency that is part of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) nationwide network. Founded as a result of the federal Older Americans Act, the AAAs are mandated to "facilitate the area-wide development and implementation of a comprehensive, coordinated system for providing long-term care in home and community-based settings, in a manner responsive to the needs and preferences of older individuals and their family caregivers." PCA carries out this mission through advocacy, stewardship of public funding, planning, development and administration of programs, and service coordination.</p> <p>The mission of PCA is to improve the quality of life for older Philadelphians and those with disabilities and assist them in achieving the greatest possible levels of health, independence, and productivity.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental coverage </li><li>Flexible spending plan (health and dependent care) </li><li>EAP, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance </li><li>Pre-tax commuting, and parking benefits </li><li>403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions and optional employee pre-tax contributions. </li><li>Annual paid time off includes holidays, sick days, personal days, and weeks' vacation depending on tenure. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Description of Role: Reporting to the Director of Long-Term Care Assessment, this position is responsible for direct administrative and clerical support to the Director of Long-Term Care Assessment and the LTCA Department.</p> <p>Required Education: Two (2) years Business College or the equivalent of experience and education.</p> <p>Required Experience: Word processing skills and knowledge of other computer applications (e.g. MS Office products) preferred.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <p>a. Provides support to Director, Assistant Directors, Supervisors, and other staff of the department.</p> <p>b. Represents the department and agency in a courteous and professional manner with commitment to the highest degree of confidentiality.</p> <p>c. Develop, manage, and maintain electronic files; complete data entry and data manipulation work as needed.</p> <p>d. Type from handwritten material, rough draft, and corrected copy including charts, graphs, forms using word processing system, compose and type routine correspondence, transcribe material.</p> <p>e. Record, report, and maintain daily staff attendance.</p> <p>f. Order, receive, and keep track of office supplies for the department.</p> <p>g. Label and set up new hire desk area and ensuring area is clear of debris.</p> <p>h. Complete and submit check requests for invoices received for the department.</p> <p>i. Prepare and maintain mailing lists.</p> <p>j. Greets and directs scheduled and unscheduled visitors.</p> <p>k. Answer LTCA telephone calls in a courteous, professional manner with an awareness of the daily schedules of LTCA staff.</p> <p>l. Relay telephone messages to staff members.</p> <p>m. Prepare, collect, and record data for department schedules and reports.</p> <p>n. Set up appointments and meetings, take minutes at meetings and/or transcribing minutes of meetings</p> <p>o. Keep up to date and well stocked written resources for mailing to consumers in the department's resource room.</p> <p>p. Distribute incoming and outgoing mail, inter-office memos and other written material; manage return mail.</p> <p>q. Ensure forms bins are kept well stocked for staff to use as a backup.</p> <p>r. Provide back up support to other clerical staff.</p> <p>s. Contributes to upholding a highly supportive team culture.</p> <p>t.
