This position is part of the front office team and works closely with students, families, and staff in a fast-paced K-8 school environment. The Health Attendant helps ensure student safety through daily health support, medication administration, communication with families, and maintaining accurate health records.</p> <p>Position Specific Information (if Applicable):</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide basic first aid and student health support under the delegation and supervision of a licensed school nurse</p> </li><li> <p>Administer medications and health procedures in accordance with school policy and nurse delegation</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and care for students who become ill or injured during the school day</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with parents regarding student illness, injuries, medications, and health concerns</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain confidentiality of student information and health records</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate student health records, medication logs, and daily clinic documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the management of student health plans, immunization records, and required health documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with office staff, teachers, administrators, and the school nurse to support student health and safety</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with vision, hearing, and other student health screenings as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Support student attendance procedures related to illness and medical appointments</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain organization and inventory of health room supplies</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with front office responsibilities as needed in a fast-paced school environment</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise students during lunch, recess, carpool, or other assigned duties as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or Equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work during the school year, Monday-Friday 7:15-3:45</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a busy school environment</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records</p> </li><li> <p>General office and computer skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently with limited direction while also functioning as part of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Polished professional appearance</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience working in a school health room, medical office, pediatric office, or healthcare setting</p> </li><li> <p>CNA, MA, EMT, or related healthcare training</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in an educational setting</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary: $24.00 - $32.00 per/hour (190 days)</p> <p>Application Deadline: ongoing</p> <p>Target Start Date: August 4, 2026</p> <p>Click HERE to view the 2026-2027 Calendar</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Perform delegated procedures in accordance with the student's health care plan and training by the school nurse consultant, such as supervision and/or assistance with the daily management of a student's diabetes, asthma, and severe allergies.</p> <p>Provide first aid for students per District guidelines, including caring forehead injuries, fractures, and lacerations.</p> <p>Administer prescribed scheduled and non-scheduled medications to students in accordance with physician orders and District policy; prepare medication for students attending field trips.</p> <p>Document health related services in designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program as assigned.</p> <p>Maintain appropriate documentation for all health room procedures, including medications, delegated procedures, and first aid in accordance with District guidelines.</p> <p>Ensure enrolling students meet the Colorado State immunization requirements prior to entering school; notify parents and school nurse consultant of incomplete immunization and/or noncompliance; omplete the annual immunization state report.</p> <p>Notify school nurse consultant of reportable communicable diseases.</p> <p>Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.</p> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>First Aid & CPR Certification - Colorado</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>High School or Equivalent (Required)</p> <p>Skills:</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Charter School</p> <p>Primary Location:</p> <p>Academy Charter School</p> <p>One Year Only (Yes or No):</p> <p>No</p> <p>Scheduled Hours Per Week:</p> <p>40</p> <p>FTE:</p> <p>1.00</p> <p>Approx Scheduled Days Per Year:</p> <p>185 Work Days</p> <ul> <li>(260 days indicates a year-round position.
