<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>12 Hour Day Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Surgical Technologist</p> <p>Department: Labor and Delivery</p> <p>Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor</p> <p>Status: Full time, 36 hours a week</p> <p>Shift: 12 hour day shifts</p> <p>Minimum rate of pay: $27.40</p> <p>Labor and Delivery has 12 LDR's, 4 High Risks Rooms, 7 Bed Triage Areas, 6 Ante partum Rooms, 3 C/Section Rooms, 4 Bed PACU. All patient rooms are private. The treatment Team consists of RNs, Surgical Technicians Patient Care Technicians & Unit Clerks. - all located on the unit.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Associates degree in Surgical Technology OR two (2) years of surgical technologist experience </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>No experience required with Associate's degree; without Associate's degree, two (2) years of surgical technologist experience required. </li></ul> <p>What you will do:</p> <ul> <li>Scrubs for surgical cases according to established sterile procedures and changes into operative clothing, dons sterile gowns and gloves, and assists the surgical team with the same. </li><li>Prepares for scheduled operative procedure by arranging sterile set up of instrument table with drapes, instruments and sutures required for procedure according to surgeon preference and maintains sterile field throughout the case. </li><li>Passes instruments, sponges, sutures, and other sterile supplies and equipment to surgeons and assists during procedures, holds retraction devices, anticipates and responds to surgeon needs during course of surgery. </li><li>Assists RN with circulating duties such as opening supplies, assisting with positioning, obtaining equipment and supplies, bagging sponges, and preparing the operative site. </li><li>Counts sponges, needles, and instruments used during surgery; at the beginning of the case, before closing, final counts and when relieved at the end of the shift prior to end of case.
