C. , Section 3 00F, (certification requirements </li><li>DOD, Defense Environmental Quality Program Policy Memorandum No. 80-4 and Air Force Instructions 3 2-1 067, Water Systems, California State law, California Administrative Code (CAC), Title 22 CA Code of Regulations </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4200 Plumbing And Pipefitting Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.</p> <p>The screen out element for this position is Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision</p> <p>JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:</p> <p>Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.</p> <p>Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)</p> <p>Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading)</p> <p>Measurement and Layout</p> <p>Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment</p> <p>Trouble shooting</p> <p>IDEAL CANDIDATE: Our Ideal candidate is someone that has:</p> <p>Five years of water/ wastewater/ fire suppression/ natural gas industry operations experience desired.</p> <p>Five years of experience in pipefitting/ plumbing desired.</p> <p>Five years of experience working in water utilities, in operations desired.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)</p> <ol> <li> <p>Knowledge of low and high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as hydraulic systems, circulating pumps, and air compressors</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of technical practices sufficient to determine need for modifications and repairs to identified systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of how various supply, disposal, and utility systems and equipment, such as water and natural gas systems, fire sprinkler equipment, and water closets are installed and operate.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of water treatment operation to include monitoring pumping equipment and gauges, adjusting valves and pumps to control and aerate water flow, and conducting water sampling tests such as fluoride, chloramines or chloride content and ion concentration (pH) levels.</p> </li></ol> <p>6.Knowledge of filtration processes such as mixed media filters, slow sand filtration, gravity rapid sand, or anthrafilt filtration and pressure filtration, normally associated with surface water treatment.</p> <ol start="7"> <li> <p>Knowledge of the individual and combined effects of chemicals and compounds that are used in disinfection of water mains or service lines, and reservoirs after maintenance or repair.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in troubleshooting/inspecting piping systems to identify irregularities and existing and/or potential problems and system malfunctions.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in using and maintaining hand and power tools such as, wrenches, pipe threaders, cutters, dividers, chalk lines, drills, grinders, closet augers, hydrostatic pumps, and ground fault interrupter equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in the use of any of the accepted trade methods and techniques, such as setting equipment, and installing any combinations of couplings, unions, and joints needed for the proper operation of the system.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to install, modify, troubleshoots, maintain, and repair new and existing sewage, industrial or and domestic low and high-pressure piping systems and equipment with limited supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, and information in blueprints, charts, and sketches to plan and layout installation, repair, and/or modification of high pressure piping systems and equipment.</p> </li></ol> <p>PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
