<p>Overview</p> <p>As a Landscaping Assistant you are responsible for the appearance and care of the landscaping and grounds on the park. You will receive some great benefits as perks while working in a great environment at Gatlinburg Skypark</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Landscaping Assistant's typical job functions include:</p> <ul> <li>Planting and tending to flowerbeds and other vegetation, may assist with watering and fertilizing of flower beds and potted plants </li><li>Performing pest control, weeding and dead-heading in flower beds </li><li>Assisting with grounds preparation and support of special events that take place at the resort </li><li>Ensuring all parking areas, walkways and drives are clean and free of debris on a daily basis, including grass clippings, leaves and sand </li><li>Assisting in the future annual flower bed layouts and design </li><li>Other tasks to be assigned by Ground Maintenance Manager </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>This position might be for you if:</p> <ul> <li>You are at least 18 years old; achieved a high school diploma or completed a GED </li><li>You have knowledge of general grounds maintenance techniques </li><li>You have a valid driver's license </li><li>You enjoy working outdoors in any weather conditions </li><li>You possess excellent organization and communication skills </li><li>You are responsible, flexible, dedicated, and dependable person; neat and tidy in appearance and reliable, positive in attitude a must </li><li>You are flexible in scheduling to meet seasonal staffing requirements; this position may include weekend and holiday shifts in addition to regular shifts </li><li>Ability to lift forty pounds occasional lifting to eighty pounds </li><li>You prefer a physical job that includes occasionally lifting of over 50 pounds </li><li>You are able to stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and remain standing on feet for lengthy periods of time </li><li>You are able to safely operate small landscape machinery, e.g. backpack blower, hedge pruners, etc. </li></ul>
