This role will act as a liaison between management and staff. Clinical duties include but are not limited to: maintaining universal precautions; rooming patients, taking necessary vital signs and measurements, administering vaccines, performing urine/saliva point of care testing, urine pregnancy testing, treatments and procedures as ordered by the provider. Non clinical duties may include, but are not limited to: communicating information to patients through direct and indirect interactions, maintaining exam and office supply inventory, documenting appropriately in the EMR, and having knowledge of and adhering to the SSH Mission Statement and all SSMC program policies and procedures.</p> <p>Compensation Pay Range:</p> <p>$23.23 - $31.26</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>1 - Greets patients coming in for appointments in a professional manner and escorts them into patient exam rooms.</p> <p>2 - Assist with varied procedures within the practice including both routine and non-routine (complex) procedures as directed and under the supervision of the MD, NP, or PA.</p> <p>a - Act as a chaperone when needed</p> <p>3 - Takes vital signs and documents accordingly, as well as performs point of care testing and enter results into EMR.</p> <p>4 - Assists administrative team in greeting patients, scheduling appointments, processing orders, collecting encounter forms and answering telephones.</p> <p>5 - Assists with determining reason for visit or phone call, flags for immediate responses, takes messages appropriately and notifies appropriate medical staff.</p> <p>6 - Responsible for coordination of room rotations.</p> <p>a - Assists with varied procedures and tasks, as directed and under the supervision of the MD, NP, PA or RN.</p> <p>7 - Assists with receiving test results for providers and calling patient with follow up of labs and tests under direction of providers.</p> <p>8 - Cleans instruments and equipment following infection control guidelines.</p> <p>9 - Able to perform serum blood draws.</p> <p>10 - Maintains excellent customer service and fosters an environment of optimal patient care.</p> <p>a - Communicate critical patient information to the nurse and/or provider.</p> <p>b - Act in a professional manner at all times</p> <p>c - Maintain a positive attitude at all times, creating a collaborative and team oriented environment</p> <p>11 - Ensures appropriate communication in changes in schedule with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, staff and patients.</p> <p>a- Attend monthly scheduled staff meetings and attend workflow/other meetings as needed.</p> <p>12 - May cross-train to assist in covering the front desk team when needed. Duties include: patient check in/out, answering any questions that patient may have, and other related administrative tasks.</p> <p>a - Efficiently manages email communications in a timely manner, uses appropriately and remains current with division/organizational communications.</p> <p>b - Is proficient in the use of all computer applications, Epic, MyTime, Workday, Microsoft Office appliactions.</p> <p>13 - Percept new employees using the established check off sheet reviewing departmental protocols, policies and workflow.</p> <p>a - serve as a role model/mentor providing support, training and sharing of knowledge including explaining and monitoring new workflows and policies</p> <p>14 - Works in collaboration with RNs and Addiction Medicine and Bridge Program Manager in the preparation of yearly evaluations by providing individual feedback and assisting with chart review and reviewing yearly competencies and ensure compliance with all personnel policies.</p> <p>15- Safety Awareness - Fosters a "Culture of Safety" through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment</p> <p>a -Demonstrates required office and clinical equipment competencies necessary to successfully perform this role</p> <p>b -Verifies patient identification according to policy prior to administration of care and/or procedures.</p> <p>c -Complies with the current CDC hand hygiene guidelines through proper hand-washing.</p> <p>d - Adheres to universal precautions and makes appropriate use of personal protective equipment at all times.</p> <p>e - Appropriately disposes of hazardous materials</p> <p>f - Utilizes proper body mechanics when performing all aspects of the job</p> <p>g - Follows appropriate chain of communication/command.</p> <p>16- Supports an evidenced based care approach to substance use disorder treatment including the use of medications. Works to combat stigma in all domains of this role.</p> <p>17-May be required to cover/assist with Perinatal Behavioral Health/SHORE program as needed.</p> <p>18- Other duties as required</p> <p>Minimum Education</p> <p>High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required</p> <p>Completion of a Medical Assistant or similar program preferred. Would also consider CNA and EMT certification for this role. Willing to train motivated applicants.</p> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <p>Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
