<ul> <li> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> </li><li> <p>Detects malignant and premalignant conditions which are used for treatment and diagnosis of disease, disorder, etc. of body fluid by performing required duties and responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> </li><li> <p>Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:</p> </li><li> <p>Perform microscopic evaluation of Gynecologic and Non-gynecologic specimens, to detect, pre-malignant, and malignant disease processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with Fine Needle Aspiration procedures within varies locations throughout the Health System.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains appropriate documentation of workload screening, meets quality indicators, and participates in all mandatory CAP surveys.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs STAT testing within established guidelines, and responds timely and effectively to requests for information regarding patient test results.</p> </li><li> <p>EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum requirement:</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor of Science degree in Cytotechnology Science required</p> </li><li> <p>ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Cytotechnologist certification or equivalent required.</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred qualifications:</p> </li><li> <p>NA</p> </li><li> <p>WORKING ENVIRONMENT</p> </li><li> <p>This job operates in a professional medical laboratory environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly works near moving mechanical parts</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection.</p> </li><li> <p>Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals</p> </li><li> <p>Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation</p> </li><li> <p>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.</p> </li><li> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> </li><li> <p>Occasionally required to maintain a stationary position (standing or sitting)</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently required to walk and move about</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly required to communicate with physicians and other care team requiring talking and hearing</p> </li><li> <p>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.</p> </li></ul>
