<p>Miami Public Schools is accepting applications for a Security Guard for the 2025-2026 school year.</p> <p>TITLE: Security Guard, Campus Police Department</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Previous law enforcement experience is preferred </li><li>CLEET Certification is preferred </li><li>Ability to obtain CLEET Certification and continue to meet the standards of CLEET certification. </li><li>All CLEET-certified peace officers are required to meet certain firearms requalification standards. Officers must attain a qualifying score of not less than seventy percent utilizing their primary handgun. </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Chief of Campus Police and Sergeant, Campus Police Department</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Demonstrate a commitment to the education of our youth and to maintain an appropriate learning environment through the protection of students, employees, and property. Assist the Chief of Campus Police and other Campus Police Officers in maintaining the security and safety of students, staff, faculty, and the community of Miami Public Schools.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Identify and report potential safety and security hazards </li><li>Notify Campus Police Department Officers in the event of a reportable crime, escalated event, or incident requiring investigation. </li><li>Collaborate with district and campus staff who oversee safety protocols. </li><li>Follow the department's safety procedures including procedures for the safe handling and use of firearms. </li><li>Patrol district property to protect all students, staff, and visitors from physical harm and prevent property loss due to theft or vandalism. </li><li>Follow the district Emergency Operations Plan and the MPS Campus Police Department Policy and Procedures Manual. </li><li>Work any hours, shifts, days, or assignments given as designated by the supervisor. </li><li>Serves as an appropriate, positive role model for students. </li><li>Perform special duty assignments, overtime, protective details, and all other duties required. </li><li>Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate the following core values: integrity, high expectations, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork, and passion for a student-centered environment. </li><li>Follow all safety and security procedures. </li><li>Work effectively within a team. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the supervisor </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT</p> <p>Employment is considered annually with Oklahoma Law. Salary set by the Board of Education. 10-month employment contract.</p> <p>EVALUATION</p> <p>Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of support personnel.</p>
