<p>Assistant or Associate Professor of Art, Full-Time or Part-Time Faculty</p> <p>Spring Arbor University is seeking a dynamic individual to strengthen and continue to build our Art programs. Experience in Photography, including darkroom and digital photography, is especially desired. The faculty position will begin in August 2026, but adjunct opportunities are available for January 2026.</p> <p>Assigned courses will include undergraduate courses in photography, art appreciation, and various other courses in Art and Media for which the candidate may be qualified. The successful candidate will have professional expertise in art and will have the ability to convey their passion and expertise to students. Responsibilities include teaching, development of scholarly endeavors (broadly defined), innovative curriculum development, mentoring students, contributing in collegial ways to build the department, and university service.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS Spring Arbor University is a community of learners distinguished by our lifelong involvement in the study and application of the liberal arts, total commitment to Jesus Christ as the perspective of learning, and critical participation in the contemporary world. The successful candidate will be able to articulate how they would integrate the Christian faith into their artistic work and chosen profession and will be someone who enjoys working with students and other faculty. Applicants must be thoroughly aligned with the University's mission and values as an evangelical Christian University affiliated with the Free Methodist Church.</p> <p>EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Master's degree in Fine Arts, or an art-related area is required; terminal degree in art or a related area is preferred. Graduate work or significant professional experience in photography is strongly desired. Candidates with extensive professional experience in photography may be considered but may be limited to part-time, Instructor status, or adjunct role. Successful college teaching experience in a traditional campus environment is strongly preferred. Experience teaching online is a plus.
