Innovation.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Dutchess Community College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Criminal Justice. This position has an expected start date in January 2026.</p> <p>Responsibilities will include the following:</p> <p>Teaching undergraduate classes in criminal justice, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Organization and administration in criminal justice</p> </li><li> <p>Ethics in criminal justice</p> </li><li> <p>Criminal law and procedure</p> </li><li> <p>Communication and the criminal justice process</p> </li><li> <p>Corrections</p> </li><li> <p>Trends in terrorism intervention</p> </li><li> <p>Field-based criminal investigations, including both forensically (processing a crime scene) and interviewing witnesses and suspects</p> </li><li> <p>Computer-based crime</p> </li><li> <p>Preparation and management of classroom experiences and assessments to develop successful learning outcomes;</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting students in achieving academic success; and</p> </li><li> <p>Participation in college activities, including membership on shared governance committees.</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in criminal justice or an appropriate sub-discipline of criminal justice; </li><li>At least five years' full-time work experience in the criminal justice profession; </li><li>Some college level teaching experience; </li><li>An appreciation for diversity of all types and how diversity impacts learning and instruction. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Community college teaching experience; </li><li>Teaching experience includes both in-person and online modalities; </li><li>An understanding and appreciation of the role of the community college in higher education; </li><li>Experience in using instructional technology in the classroom and a willingness to adopt new and emerging technologies; and </li><li>Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Brightspace, Blackboard, or Canvas. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Review of applications will begin in September 2025 and will continue until the position is filled.</p> <p>This is a full-time, permanent position.</p> <p>CLASSIFICATION / SALARY</p> <p>Class: DUE / Faculty</p> <p>Salary: $63,616 - $82,712 commensurate with experience and degree.</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>To be considered please submit an online application, resume and cover letter electronically by clicking on the APPLY NOW button below.</p> <p>All required documents must be uploaded in order for your application to be reviewed and considered.
