We value our professional and caring employees who are dedicated to improving people's lives and we want YOU to join our team!</p> <p>What you will be doing: Responsible for the preparation of all center meals in accordance with pre-planned menus, in compliance with government and management directives.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of students </li><li>Assist in instructing senior cafeteria attendants, cafeteria attendants and assistants in the safe, hygienic method of preparing and serving appetizing, eye appealing meals </li><li>Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition; ensure work area is safe, clean and sanitary at all times </li><li>Prepare food as directed for special center functions, visitors and off center assignments </li><li>Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal </li><li>Supervise students assigned to assist in the cafeteria </li><li>Recommend replenishment of stockroom commodities </li><li>Provide shift supervision as needed </li><li>Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers </li><li>Participate in student employability programs and activities </li><li>Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy </li><li>Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions </li><li>Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices. </li></ul> <p>It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.</p> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent and one year related experience required </li><li>Valid food handler's permit if required by the state of employment or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment </li><li>Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds </li></ul> <p>Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
