You will:</p> <p>Design</p> <ul> <li>Be responsible for developing connections and relationships in the community and for bringing in projects. </li><li>BE responsible for client contact and communicating goals and responsibilities to project team. </li><li>Take initiative on strategic issues including design direction and providing quality management. </li><li>Develop and coordinates detailed design concepts with ability to develop functional requirements and project-design criteria. </li><li>Demonstrate understanding of the architectural design process and integration of design concepts/ with ability develop design element components. </li><li>Coordinate integration of basic engineering systems into the overall project design. </li><li>Respond to technical implications of design decisions. </li><li>Promote firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution and sustainability. </li></ul> <p>Technical</p> <ul> <li>Understand all aspects and phases of the architectural, design and production process. </li><li>Implement code, accessibility and zoning analyses. </li><li>Assist with design and technical coordination among disciplines (interiors, architecture, branded environments, planning and strategies) </li><li>Perform tasks according to Perkins&Will Project Delivery Manual. </li></ul> <p>Management</p> <ul> <li>Define, monitor, and maintain control of the scope of work and services for the project including project schedule and work plan. </li><li>Prepare and negotiate client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules, and contracts. </li><li>Be primary coordinator of all communication between the client and Perkins&Will, (including Managing Principal, Design Principal, and Technical Principal) ensuring timely resolution of client concerns and management of business issues including contracts and additional services. </li><li>Be responsible for the complete integration of design and technical aspects of the project. </li><li>Be responsible for the clear and timely communication of information to the project team and ensuring compliance with the project team's goals. </li><li>Monitor the performance of the project team and approach, to assure that the Firm's quality standards and design goals are being met. </li><li>Establish, maintain, and document regular project related meetings including client, internal teams and consultant's meetings. </li><li>Initiate, document, and maintain project set-up, including contract review, project process and filing procedures, work authorizations and invoicing/receivables. </li><li>Be responsible for meeting or exceeding the financial goals established for the project and providing timely and appropriate information to Project Accountant to initiate invoicing. </li><li>Direct contact responsibility with clients and associated consultants, to insure timely collections and management of delinquent accounts receivables. </li><li>Ensure the orderly and complete preparation, distribution, and retention of all project written records. </li><li>Consider risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues in a timely manner to minimize liability. </li><li>Be responsible for the orderly close-out of projects including contractual requirements. </li><li>Follow through with post contract administration requirements (e.g.,: follow-up phone calls to ensure client satisfaction and source additional marketing leads, complete final historical database, etc.). </li><li>Coordinate staffing resources with office Operations Director. </li><li>Assure a positive teamwork atmosphere and assists in supporting the development and retention of quality staff including training/development/mentoring. </li><li>Participate in marketing opportunities and facilitates multi-discipline/office collaboration within firm. </li><li>Develop and maintain successful client relationships for repeat business. </li><li>Facilitate program development with project teams. </li><li>Be responsible for project design budget and cost control. </li><li>Prepare design presentations, assuming design lead in client and owner presentations. </li><li>Direct, organize, and mentor junior staff. </li></ul> <p>Typical Years of Requisite Experience:15+ years</p> <p>Professional Licensure: Preferred</p> <p>High-level Summary of Critical, Baseline Technical Skills and Certifications</p> <p>Proficiencies</p> <ul> <li>Advanced knowledge of project design process, construction documentation, programming, space planning, furniture specifications and materials and finishes </li><li>Strong project budgeting and contract negotiations skills </li><li>Strong working relationships with clients and consultants </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Advanced experience in all phases and aspects of a project including programming and planning </li><li>Strong competency in interior design specifications, calculations and industry standards, and application of building codes and specifications </li><li>Experience in directing, mentoring and coordinating project teams </li><li>Collaborative and professional work ethic </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, listening and written including client presentation skills </li></ul> <p>Software</p> <ul> <li>Strong Revit knowledge </li><li>Strong Project management software skills </li><li>Strong graphic, 3D visualization and computer drafting skills </li></ul> <p>Licensure/Certifications/Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in interior design or related field is required; Advanced degrees preferred </li><li>LEED GA within 6 months of hire </li><li>Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation
