<p>Description</p> <p>Boulder CountyParks & Open Space Department is looking to hire a Seasonal Parks Technician. The primary duties include general maintenance of park trailheads and carrying out routine tasks across various locations. In addition, the technician will assist with various Trailheads projects managed by our team and serve as the Sponsor for the Grounds Youth Corps Team consisting of 2 adult staff and 10 teen corps members. This seasonal position is outdoors and requires frequent use of hand and power tools to complete a variety of tasks.</p> <p>This is anhourly, non-benefitedposition that will work 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:30pm. This position will work out of5201 St. Vrain Rd Longmont,Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt(eligible for overtime).</p> <p>Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.</p> <p>Hiring Salary Range: $24.04Hourly</p> <p>Tentative Hiring Timeline:</p> <ul> <li>First Round Interviews: May 22nd </li><li>Reference Check: May 22nd </li></ul> <p>Boulder County employees may qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). Visit studentaid.gov for more information.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Performs maintenance and improvement projects on properties administered by the Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department </li><li>Operates and maintains hand tools, power tools, and equipment to perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks </li><li>Performs ongoing maintenance and repair on trails, picnic areas, buildings, parking lots, and other Parks facilities </li><li>Performs related work, as required </li><li>May be reassigned during emergency situations </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>PLEASE NOTE: When completing your application describe all relevant education and experience, as applications are assessed based on the required qualifications listed. In this position, no formal education or experience is required.</p> <p>DRIVER'S LICENSE:</p> <ul> <li>Applicants must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record </li><li>For more information regarding a clean driving record, please clickhere. </li></ul> <p>PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL:</p> <ul> <li>Candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: </li><li>Maintenance of parks, open space and/or natural resources </li><li>Working with teens in an outdoor, project-focused environment </li><li>Operating light equipment and tools such as pick-up trucks, trailers, mini trac loaders, skid-steers </li><li>Light maintenance and repair of fences or structures, or general construction </li><li>Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered </li><li>Ability to perform manual labor jobs, such as regular heavy lifting and operation of hand and power tools </li><li>Understanding safety measures and taking precautionary actions while in the field </li><li>Ability to operate trucks and other equipment related to the job </li><li>Knowledge of repairing and maintaining tools </li><li>Strong commitment to cultural responsiveness and inclusion </li><li>Proficiency when working independently on the job with little supervision </li></ul> <p>Boulder County is a workplace dedicated to supporting individuals and families of all types and to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful environment for all employees.
