<p>Job Title Information Technology Instructor (Correctional) - Revised Job Description</p> <p>The Information Technology Instructor is a full-time, 12-month position located primarily at Anson Correctional Institution in Polkton, NC. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Correctional Education Programs and the general supervision of the Director of Information Technology Programs, the Information Technology Instructor provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in achieving their educational and career goals. This individual is responsible for teaching and learning, professional development, institutional service, and community partnerships.</p> <p>Comprehensive Benefits Package to include health insurance with the NC State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees, retirement benefits through the NC Retirement System, Paid Time Off, and a supplemental benefits cafeteria plan.</p> <p>Essential Duties Summary</p> <ul> <li>Teach 30 hours per week each semester (fall, spring, summer). </li><li>Develop course curriculum. </li><li>Facilitate learning through classroom activities, distance learning experiences, workforce development, and out-of-classroom assignments, as appropriate. </li><li>Maintain updated and appropriate course materials and resources. </li><li>Ensure safe and appropriate use of all supplies and equipment. </li><li>Remain current with developments in the industry/field and instructional best practices. </li><li>Actively participate in continuous program improvement through the assessment of learning outcomes at the course and program level. </li><li>Actively participate in College committees and activities. </li><li>Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, innovation, collaboration, and institutional commitment in all actions. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, Director of Information Technology Programs, or Associate Vice President. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in IT or related field </li><li>Three years of experience in the IT field </li><li>Proficiency in Windows 10/11 Administration </li><li>Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications </li><li>Personal and professional integrity which communicates a sense of mission, leadership, and ability to self-start. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively. </li><li>Ability to deal effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with students, staff, visitors, and internal and external partners. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field </li><li>One or more of the following certifications: </li></ul> <p>o Comp TIA Tech+</p> <p>o Comp TIA A+</p> <p>o Comp TIA Network+</p> <p>o Microsoft MD-102</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a correctional setting </li><li>Demonstrated innovation within the field of education or technology </li><li>Evidence of a career that includes: </li></ul> <p>o Effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills</p> <p>o Flexibility and a willingness to change</p> <p>o Open-mindedness, fairness, and the ability to see multiple perspectives</p> <p>o A willingness to take appropriate risks</p> <p>o A willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth</p> <p>Physical Demands Special Conditions Eligibility Summary Eeo Statement Summary</p> <p>South Piedmont Community College provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees based on job related criteria without reference to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, genetic information, or any other legally protected classification.
