<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply</p> <p>OUTPATIENT/GENERAL MENTAL HEALTH (GMH) This position would be a part of a clinical team with duties divided between program development, patient care and educational programing, including collaboration our nationally recognized inter-professional education program. Our GMH team is focused on team- based, evidence- driven care and we are at the forefront of using outcome measures to ensure the best care for our Veterans. Educational and research opportunities are available for qualified applicants. If the physician has appropriate qualifications, they can receive a faculty appointment in the University of Wisconsin Department of Psychiatry.</p> <p>ADDICTIONS The Madison VA uses an interdisciplinary team model of addictions treatment and the Psychiatrists in this position would be a core member of this treatment team. The Psychiatrist would have the opportunity to serve Veterans in an Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions Treatment Clinic and would also have the opportunity to teach and be involved in research if desired. This is a great opportunity for a physician looking to be at the forefront of evidence-based, interdisciplinary and Veteran-centered addictions treatment.</p> <p>These direct services include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Individual psychotherapy services </li><li>Group psychotherapy services </li><li>Medication assessment and management </li><li>Consultation to other medical and nursing providers on psychiatric issues </li><li>Behavioral interventions </li><li>Facilitation of referrals to Behavioral Health Service programs for patients in need of specialized services </li><li>Records clinical information in the medical record according to prescribed standards and collects and maintains required statistical information </li><li>Participates on a variety of service and facility committees, task groups or special projects groups to assure compliance with agency directives and goals and contribute to the delivery of health care services to Veterans </li><li>Identifies gaps in services and works to resolve those gaps </li><li>Provides staff development, training, and oversight direction to Behavioral Health staff members, interns, volunteers, and others as directed by the Chief of Behavioral Health Service </li><li>Provides educational presentations to staff on topics relevant to the care and management of patients with mental disorders in the primary care environment </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VHA Physician Total Rewards</p> <p>Work Schedule: May vary depending on deployment and/or assigned facility needs. Part Time scheduled 24-32 hours per week.
