<p>The Psychologist will complete initial diagnostic assessment for intake into the Mental Health Clinic, including initial treatment plan, assessment of risk, and triage referrals to the appropriate outpatient services. Will also complete inpatient and ER evaluations when consulted by hospital services, including ER physicians, Internal Medicine, Surgery, or other specialty providers. This includes written reports as well as face-to-face or phone consultation with the referring service.</p> <p>Duties include, but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide integrated care to patients referred by Primary Care Service. </li><li>Conduct evaluations and assessments of Veterans with various psychological conditions. </li><li>Deliver psychoeducation to patients and their families. </li><li>Provide evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy. </li><li>Follow-up on positive mental health screenings and provide necessary evaluations. </li><li>Implement behavior change strategies to improve medical outcomes. </li><li>Participate in collaborative treatment planning and place appropriate referrals. </li><li>Serve as a resource to other members of the Mental Health Multidisciplinary Team. </li><li>Coordinate with the substance abuse team as needed. </li><li>Exhibit time management and flexibility to respond to urgent situations. </li><li>Hold a state license to practice psychology. </li><li>Advanced knowledge in psychological diagnostics and evidence-based interventions. </li><li>Advise and consult professionals from various disciplines on behavioral health disorders. </li><li>Utilize measurement-based care in treatment. </li><li>Participate in the professional activities of the Mental Health Service. </li><li>Join administrative committees and program evaluation activities. </li><li>Provide direct psychological patient care. </li><li>Offer consultation services on complex cases. </li><li>Educate staff and supervise trainees. </li><li>Comply with all documentation and coding procedures. </li><li>Strong foundation in evidence-based treatment and integrated care. </li><li>Possess strong time management, self-direction, and communication skills. </li><li>Proficient in using personal computers and various software for documentation. </li><li>Write psychological reports, chart notes, and treatment summaries in a timely manner. </li><li>Prioritize work appropriately and seek consultation for difficult cases. </li><li>Familiar with Mental Health Service policies and accrediting standards. </li><li>Maintain professional conduct during high-stress situations. </li><li>Work collaboratively with all other professions. </li><li>Provide psychological treatment and services utilizing various theories and methods. </li><li>Develop and document clear treatment goals using measurement-based care. </li><li>Implement clinical procedures that meet performance measures. </li><li>Timely completion of all clinical record-keeping and documentation. </li><li>Perform evaluations that are integrated into comprehensive treatment plans. </li><li>Conduct structured diagnostic evaluations and develop treatment plans. </li><li>Serve as a consultant on substance use disorder issues. </li><li>Provide clinical supervision to various trainees. </li><li>Participate in training graduate trainees. </li><li>Attend and participate in relevant meetings and committees. </li><li>Advocate for Veterans and their families to navigate VA systems. </li><li>Make rapid assessments and develop crisis management plans when necessary. </li><li>Educate Veterans on available services and collaborate on preferred options. </li><li>Maintain complete, confidential, and professional patient records. </li><li>Attend all appropriate staff meetings and training. </li><li>Collaborate in performance improvement processes. </li><li>Independently make use of guidelines creatively and flexibly. </li><li>Address the age, developmental, and cultural needs of patients. </li><li>Protect sensitive data according to regulations and policies. </li><li>Promote a culture of patient safety. </li><li>Report and document any accidents and follow safety protocols. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Tour of duty may vary, and will be determined by supervisor.</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.</p> <p>Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.</p> <p>Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Telework: Not Authorized</p> <p>Functional Statement #: 000000</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p> <p>PCS Appraised Value Offer (AVO): Not Authorized</p>
