<p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide visionary and strategic leadership for library services, collections, and programs </li><li>Oversee library operations, including budgeting, facilities, and personnel management </li><li>Lead recruitment, development, and retention of diverse faculty and staff, with a focus on cultivating their growth and empowering their efforts to support student success. </li><li>Foster innovation in information literacy, digital scholarship, and student support services </li><li>Build partnerships across campus and with external stakeholders </li><li>Support fundraising, grant development, and donor engagement </li><li>Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in all library initiatives </li><li>Represent the Library within the University and broader community </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Candidates must hold a master's degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program (or equivalent) and demonstrate at least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in an academic library setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, budgeting, and personnel management, along with excellent communication and collaborative leadership skills. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in shared governance and unionized environments, along with a proven ability to lead organizational change and innovation in support of research, teaching, and student success. They will embody inclusive, equity-minded leadership and bring strong communication skills, particularly active listening, paired with an adaptable and collaborative approach. A compassionate and approachable leadership style, including the ability to resolve conflicts constructively and engage meaningfully with faculty and staff, is essential.
