<p>Assistant or Associate Professor, Finance (Tenure-Track)</p> <p>John Chambers College of Business & Economics</p> <p>West Virginia University - Morgantown, WV</p> <p>The Department of Finance at the John Chambers College of Business & Economics, West Virginia University, invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level within any area of specialization in Finance. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefits-eligible appointment with an anticipated start date in Fall 2026.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Teach courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, covering topics in finance and related disciplines. </li><li>Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. </li><li>Supervise and mentor doctoral students, including serving on dissertation committees. </li><li>Develop a strong research program with the potential to publish in high-quality academic journals. </li><li>Maintain an active research pipeline that contributes to the advancement of the field of Finance. </li><li>Actively contribute to departmental, college, and university service initiatives. </li><li>Engage in program development, student mentoring, and other academic activities that support the institution's mission. </li><li>A Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field (e.g., Economics) is required. </li><li>Possess a strong research pipeline and demonstrate potential to publish in high-quality academic journals. Candidates at the Associate Professor level must have a track record of high-level research published in well-regarded journals. </li><li>A teaching record that demonstrates excellence in the classroom. </li><li>A strong commitment to service and engagement in academic and professional communities. </li><li>All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. </li></ul> <p>Application Process</p> <p>Applicants should submit the following items electronically via the WVU Faculty Jobs Board at https://careers.wvu.edu/career-opportunities:</p> <ul> <li>A letter of interest. </li><li>Curriculum vitae. </li><li>Evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., course evaluations, sample syllabi). </li><li>A sample of scholarly work (e.g., publication or working paper). </li><li>Contact information for three references. </li></ul> <p>Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
