Assist with outreach events such as Community Fishing Nights and Outdoor Discovery Programs. Enter master angler applications, bait dealer reports, nonresident fish dealer reports, private aquaculture reports and other fisheries information into digital databases. Assist with fish stocking as needed. Inspect public boat ramps/docks and perform minor repairs as needed. Assist with Aquatic Habitat Projects as assigned. Some general equipment maintenance and other related responsibilities may be assigned. Interactions with the public are common for this position. This position may require weekend work, statewide travel and work in adverse weather conditions.</p> <p>Requirements / Qualifications:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: 1 year experience OR 1 year coursework/training in fisheries management, natural resources, biology, and/or agriculture.</p> <p>Other: Driver's license required.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: General knowledge of fisheries management techniques, common sportfish species in Nebraska and fishing techniques. Successful candidates should feel comfortable speaking to and communicating with the public via different platforms (social media, email, etc).
